Week 3 of this week’s Monday Night Football game between the Dallas Cowboys and the New York Giants is now available. So what are the final words from both teams before kick-off?
Webb Weekly August 24, 2022 By Webb Weekly
As expected, QB Dak Prescott is out for this Monday Night Football game. The good news is that his points will be removed from his practice on Monday after the Cincinnati Bengals game. And for more positive news from Dak, he was seen throwing practice balls in practice this week. So wait until everything is two weeks.
Jerry Jones talked about the quarterback controversy this week. The good news here is that Jerry’s pure “click bait” comment didn’t affect the Rush/Prescott relationship and both players know how the game works.
Cooper Rush said he and Dak Prescott have been “joking” about Jerry Jones’ QB dilemma since Thursday. “I think he wants to win games and that’s what we all want to do,” Rush said. — Todd Archer (@toddarcher) September 23, 2022
Head coach Mike McCarthy didn’t mince his words, leaving us with a statement that contradicts Jerry’s claim that there is no battle at quarterback. “But there’s no debate about the quarterback. Dak is our starter.” McCarthy was more than happy to tell as everyone would see it.

Cowboys running back Dalton Schultz is a question mark after suffering a PCL injury against the Cincinnati Bengals. At this point, Schultz appears to be a game decision, but with Sean McKeon’s ascension to the strong lineup, it’s fair to say Schultz is losing this one. But there is a final decision for him.
#Cowboys TE Dalton Schultz traveled with the team and plans to test his knee today before making a final decision on his status with the #Giants this spring. It looks like he might not play, but Schultz is a contender that can’t be ruled out. — Tom Pelissero (@TomPelisero) September 26, 2022
OL Jason Peters is one of three players the Cowboys are expected to bring off the practice squad today for tonight’s game at the Giants. QB Will Grier is one. Sean McKeon is another. Two maximums are allowed per game, so one must be signed on the 53-man roster.— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) September 26, 2022

Safety Jayron Kearse and OG Connor McGovern are working to rehabilitate their injuries. How long the Cowboys will be out will become clearer after this week. But for now both will be out of the stands for this weekend’s game.
Cowboys S Jayron Kearse (MCL sprain) “practiced really well Monday,” coach Mike McCarthy said. “He’s making progress.” LG Connor McGovern will work out “a little bit more” today after practicing Monday. Both are still on the mend.— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) September 21, 2022
WR Noah Brown is in great shape right now. He is currently projected to have better numbers at the end of the season than WR Davante Adams.
After Noah Brown’s first TD in six years, Cowboys RB Ezekiel Elliott got the ball for him. How did he remember? As Zeke, in the locker room before the game, John Fassel said, “Well, Noah will score his first game today at 5:10 p.m.” pic.twitter.com/jdTW9Nu8mu — Jori Epstein (@JoriEpstein) September 23, 2022
Queen’s Coffin Arrives At Palace
The Ohio State wide receiver finally snapped his 2,141-day streak between his last touchdown passes in 2016, and he did it in front of a home crowd. Hopefully, now that Brown has broken his stamp on the NFL, we’ll see more exciting plays from him like his college days when he had a fourth down against Oklahoma.

Anyone worried about Micah Parsons not playing this week should calm down. He’s spent this entire week with what the team calls a cold. He did not test positive for Covid-19 and was at home recovering. He is expected to play and be ready to continue his tradition of wreaking havoc in the backfield this weekend at MetLife Stadium. And let’s be honest, if there’s one player who doesn’t have time to train, it’s the lion! But he was appointed for the day of the game.
Despite missing two practices, Cowboys LB Micah Parsons is expected to play Monday night against the Giants. He has not yet tested positive for COVID-19, a source familiar with the situation said today. That’s the key. If it does, a five-day quarantine is required. https://t.co/w7VddPGPik — Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) September 23, 2022

#Cowboys WR Michael Gallup is also expected to be inactive tonight against the #Giants , every spring. His return from knee surgery will have to wait another week. Good to go is LB Micah Parsons, who has limited practice this week due to illness. https://t.co/orvi1aYV4H — Tom Pelissero (@TomPelisero) September 26, 2022
Then Quinton Bohanna and Trevon Diggs appeared on the injury report. Diggs was out for personal reasons but will play Monday. Bohanna missed practice with a neck injury and was listed as limited. He is expected to play but is listed as questionable. WR Michael Gallup has been working hard all week in practice, forecasting some snaps for Gallup if he plays this week, but the bottom line is that Gallup will be out after a good week of preparation.
Cowboys NT Quinton Bohanna, who appeared on the injury report Friday with a neck problem and was listed as questionable, will play tonight, a source familiar with the situation said. He will help anchor the defensive strength of Giants RB Saquon Barkley.— Michael Gehlken (@GehlkenNFL) September 26, 2022

The latest news on the Cowboys line, OT Jason Peters has been practicing and doing his best to help the offensive line in any way he can. The Cowboys coaching staff believes the former Philadelphia Eagles tight end deserves some controversy. Peters has been practicing at RT and LG, not his old LT spot, so let’s see what Joe Philbin and Kellen Moore have in store for him on Monday. The Cowboys activated Peters for the game.
For the Giants, their final day DNP list is DL Leonard Williams (knee), CB Aaron Robinson (appendicitis), CB Nick McCloud (hamstring), WR Wan’Dale Robinson (knee), CB Justin Layne (concussion) . , WR Kadarius Toney (hamstring).
And their list of minor players includes LB Kayvon Thibodeaux (knee), LB Azeez Ojulari (calf), OL Jon Feliciano (shin), S Jason Pinnock (shoulder), DB Dane Belton (clavicle).
