Sample Mission Trip Support Letter – Fundraising is an essential part of mission trips. You can’t go on a mission trip without the means to get there. Since many people raise their money by writing letters, I offer some tips on how to write the best letters that are more likely to get the response you need.

Here is a video where I offer some similar tips on writing and sending fundraising letters for short-term mission trips.

Sample Mission Trip Support Letter

Don’t write a letter about “saving Honduras”. Obviously, you can’t do it in two weeks. Write a letter about a person or two you know and care about, who you hope to connect with. Keeping a human face is essential, because your work will be deeply personal when you reach your mission trip.

People can’t respond to your needs if they don’t know what your needs are. Be as clear as possible about where you’re going, when you’re going, when the deadlines are, how much you need, and how you plan to use the money you spend. receive

Even if you’ve written a great letter, if it’s all crammed on the page, it will be hard to read. Use bold letters for important points.

Put things around that you want people to notice. Capital letters are another way of adding emphasis. Make it so that someone can look at your page and see the important points without having to read every word.

If you’re asking for a favor, don’t push people to help you. The best way to do this is to include an envelope that already has the address where they need to send the help as well as a stamp to pay for whatever they are sending. Do not allow any possibility of confusion. You can also include a small piece of paper with your name on it to let the person receiving the donation know that “This donation is to support (your name).”

How To Write A Mission Trip Support Letter

Ideally, you should ask for help from people you know. Whether they help you or not, you should understand that they probably prayed for you, or at least wished you well, even if they couldn’t help financially.

Be sure to acknowledge their gift with a “thank you” letter. But more importantly, you should contact everyone you ask for help

Travel and tell them all about your experience. Tell them how God works. Tell them how people’s lives have been affected and tell them how your life has changed.

Example of a good fundraising letter: Dear (person’s name – make it personal!), This summer June 28-July 8, I plan to go with the First Church on a trip to San Jose, Costa Rica on a trip We will focus on our work is mainly on children’s programs in the church, including VBS, as well as personal evangelism and some humanitarian construction/rehabilitation projects. One of the most effective ways to raise awareness and money for your name in Christ, a mission trip far and wide is to send a letter of support to your friends and family, inviting them to be part of your mission to serve others to perform.
