According to Farmers’ Almanac, an annual American periodical published continuously since 1818, the answer is no. They argue that decades begin with the number “1” (as in 2021) and end with the number “0” (as in 2030).
However, we call the decades the 50s, 70s, 80s, etc. Additionally, this Wikipedia article states that the 2020s start on January 1, 2020 and end on December 31, 2029.
So which is it? Will we start a new decade in just over three weeks or do we still have one year of the decade we are in now? Whatever your part in this debate, the fact remains that if you want to have an amazing life, you have to think long term.
